Is there anything sweeter than a pair of little newborn feet? YES! 2 pairs of little newborn feet! Two of my favorite friends were blessed with the sweetest twin boys in 2018 and I was so excited to get my hands (and lens) on them. Check out the adventures of Ash and Finn below!
It was just over a year ago that I received a message from a mother expecting her second child. She explained to me that while this would be her second baby, it was not her second pregnancy. She had miscarried after her first child was born so this was actually a rainbow baby she was carrying. She had waited a long time for this baby and she wanted to make sure to document the “rainbow” part of this pregnancy in the photos. I am always humbled and honored to be a part of such important moments in my clients’ lives and this was no exception. This session was amazing. We definitely clicked and we ended up with a lot of amazing photos but the above image is my favorite from the day.
Shortly after our session, Mom delivered a healthy baby girl and I was lucky enough to go back and take some newborn pics. They moved to another country a few months after she was was born so I have not seen them since but it hit me today that this rainbow baby is about to be a year old. How awesome is that? With all the tough stuff in the news and in life in general these days, it’s so easy to get bogged down with all the bad. I share this image and story not only because of the happy ending but because of what I think the image truly represents and it’s something we all need right now- HOPE ❤️
This is one of my absolute favorite sessions I've ever done. Obviously, my subject is great- you can't go wrong with adorable kids- you just can't! And these 2 were fun and playful and excited to soak up the last moments of summer on the beach. The other thing that made these pictures so successful? They were taken at the best time of day- the golden hour right before sunset. The only other time to get this gorgeous kind of light? The golden hour right after sunrise. Suffice it to say, more clients are up for sunset golden hour than sunrise, but if you can handle getting up that early, I guarantee, you will get gorgeous lighting first thing in the morning as well.
Summer time is great because the sun stays out late so its possible to get that gorgeous golden light on a weeknight after work or during a summer vacation week and its great because kids don't have to go to school the next day. Check out a few more of my favorite snaps from this amazing session!
